Her parents had a magnolia in their front yard when she was growing up, and as a child she used to play in the shade of its light pink flowers during the spring. It was the same house her parents grew up in, just outside of a Southern town, far enough to have a broad, green, landscaped yard but not so far as to be rural. It reminds her of simplicity, of purity, before the complications of modern life required the constant action of the brain, back when thought could be devoted to imagination and to play, or turned off entirely. The ring taps into that playful side, the hidden child, the light pink magnolia.
